Sampdoria remained at the rock bottom after another 1-1 draw against Bologna 1-1 and without a win in 9 games.
Germany
The much-awaited derby between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund ended in a four-goal stalemate, with both teams scoring 2 goals each. Leon Goretzka opened the scoring for Bayern, and Leroy Sane doubled their lead before Youssoufa Moukoko pulled one back. Anthony Modeste headed home to hit a late equalizer. Bayern’s Kingsley Coman was sent off before the equalizer.
Elsewhere, Union Berlin avoided dropping points and kept the top spot after the 0-1 win against Stuttgart, who sacked their head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo a few hours after the loss, which was also his 100th game in charge. Second-placed SC Freiburg dropped points after the 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin, while Gladbach thrashed Koln 5-2 at home. Mainz settled for a draw with RB Leipzig 1-1.
France
In the Northern derby, Lens ended their unbeaten run after Jonathan David’s penalty earned Lille a 1-0 home victory. It was also Lens’ first Ligue 1 defeat since April 10. Reigning champions and current leaders Paris Saint-Germain dropped points as the match against Reims ended in a goalless draw. Earlier, Lorient’s surprise run continued when they sank Brest 1-2 at home.
Lyon continued with their poor form that prompted Peter Bosz’s dismissal as head coach following 1-1 draw with newcomer Toulouse. Bosz, who left the team with only one point in their last five league games, will be replaced by former PSG boss Laurent Blanc. Nice escaped defeat as they won 3-2 at home, with Troyes scoring two goals in the last few minutes.
