The greatest Hungarian football player and one of the most successful Hungarian football players ever of his era. Imre Schlosser is 13 time Hungarian Champion and 7 time all-leading scorer in the local league. He led his national team to the very impressive Olympic appearance in 1912 Stockholm Olympic, in which they finished in the top 5. He played for his national team between 1906 – 1927 in which he tallied 68 goals for Hungary. He retired in 1928 at the age of 33, the same year he joined the Pesterzsebet II. Throughout his career, he tallied the first 500 goals in Europe, the first most goals in soccer history.
Imre Schlosser started his career at the very young age of 16, playing for Ferencvarosi TC and stayed there for almost 11 years before transferring to Hungaria FC or popularly known as MTK Budapest. He helped Ferencvarosi to grab six titles and dominated the local league scoring. He stayed for Hungarian FC for the next six years and helped the club team to clinch six consecutive titles. This dominance by Schlosser at that time is out of this world as he made every team he played a championship contender in the Hungarian league. After his final year in 1922, he retired from playing and decided to become a professional trainer till 1926. In that year of his return, he decided to play for his first team where he started his career at Pesterzsebet which he helped to clinch their seventh title, 13 overall. He played a total of FIFA 65 matches and tallied 55 FIFA goals.
Imre Schlosser passed away on July 19, 1959 in Budapest, Hungary at the age of 69. His achievement became the door for most of the football players.
