The Qatar 2022 World Cup has been quaked by another shocking news of the death of a second journalist, the Qatari photojournalist Khalid Al-Misslam who had “suddenly” died. “Al-Misslam, a Qatari, died suddenly while covering the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. We believe in Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for him, and send our deepest condolences to his family,” the Qatari news outlet reported. For online football manager updates here!

The sudden death of the Qatari photojournalist remains a mystery and unclear. However, on the same day of the announcement of the death of the second journalist, a security guard fell from a significant height at the Lusail Stadium at around 2 a.m. following Argentina’s quarterfinal victory against the Netherlands, he was left seriously injured, and reportedly a migrant worker.

Qatar’s supreme committee releases a statement in regards to the incident as a “serious fall while on duty.” “Stadium medical teams immediately attended the scene and provided emergency treatment before he was transferred to Hamad Medical Hospital care unit via ambulance,” according to the statement released from the press. The Qatari government is investigating the circumstances regarding the fall of a security guard as a matter of urgency.

The first journalist reportedly died while covering the World Cup 2022 is the U.S. journalist Grant Wahl, 48, was covering the quarter-final match between Netherlands and Argentina. It is said that he collapsed in his seat at the Lusail Stadium. Many witnesses confirm that Wahl was quickly treated by emergency services workers before he was rushed to the hospital. Almost an hour after that, he was announced dead and Qatar’s organizing committee did not disclose his cause of death.

Weeks before the accident, Wahl made a worldwide scene after he tweeted that the security refused him an entry to the game between USA and Wales because he was wearing a rainbow t-shirt to show his support for the LGBTQIA+ community. Wahl said he was forced to change his shirt by a security guard to be able to enter the stadium.

Days after his sudden death, Wahl wrote on his social media platform that he had been feeling unwell and had already consulted the medical clinic. “My body finally broke down on me. Three weeks of little sleep, high stress and lots of work can do that to you. What had been a cold over the last 10 days turned into something more severe on the night of the USA-Netherlands game, and I could feel my upper chest take on a new level of pressure and discomfort.” He also added that the medical staff advised that he probably had bronchitis and he was given a course of antibiotics and cough syrup to make him a bit better.
