The reigning Premier League Champion is back on top of the table after demolishing Arsenal 3-1. Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish made clutch efforts for the City.

The Gunners suffered a huge dent in this match as this is their first home defeat this season and hindered their hope of taking home the Premier League title for the first time since 2004. This 3-1 defeat over the reigning Champion continued Arsenal’s slump against Manchester City to 11 games. Follow for more EPL Prediction here!

This is also the eight straight games that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has won against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal across all competitions. Kevin De Bruyne scored the opening goal at the 24th minute of the match as Tomiyasu made a terrible mistake as he did a blind back pass to Ramsdale but De Bruyne got the best of the failed back pass and swept it over the goalkeeper to send it at the back of the net.

18 minutes later after the first score, Bukayo Saka scored the penalty to equalize the match and ended the first 45 minutes. The home squad is still looking dominant as they pressured the visiting Manchester City side to double yellow cards and Aaron Ramsdale provided great defense with his great-wall like mantra, saving the attempts from Manchester City strikers.

However, the second half did not favor the former league-leader as the City displayed their Champions’ mentality with two goals from Grealish and Haaland to give Arsenal and the home fans frustrations and disappointments. Japanese international Takehiro Tomiyasu as he committed time-wasting as he couldn’t decide in his throw-ins. Gundogan made a great assist to Jack Grealish to lift Manchester over Arsenal in the 72nd minute. Haaland drives into the box and its squared to Gundogan, who did an emergency pass to Grealish – the the English international has a space and a free run onto the ball to keep his shot low to make it hard for Ramsdale who failed to deflect and it rolls into the back of the net.

10 minutes later, Haaland delivered the winning goal to double the lead for Manchester City. Gundogan and De Bruyne connected to defeat Zinchenko and Saliba before De Bruyne pulled it back to running Erling Haaland who immediately made a quick low shot to fire it into the far corner – Ramsdale wrongfooted and 3-1 for City.

Manchester City is still the only side that Arsenal has failed to beat in the Premier League, losing all five meetings against the reigning Champion.

After the match, Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard spoke on the loss, “It is football. Sometimes chances go in, sometimes not. But that is where we need to improve and be more clinical and defend our box. That is not just about one player, but the whole team.”
