Atletico Madrid junks Man Utd bid transfer for Joao Felix.
Despite a €130 million offer from Manchester United for Portuguese attacker Joao Felix, as Atletico Madrid cannot fathom to sell Felix for just €24m more than they originally paid to buy the attacker from Benfica three years ago. The more crucial thing is that Felix is a major factor for the team as it showed on the first victory of this season of La Liga over Getafe (3-0) as he set up all three goals for Alvaro Morata and Antoine Greizmann.
The €130 million offer, Atletico Madrid emphasized that the amount offered by Manchester United is still considered a “cheap one” a huge contradiction to the 22 year old Portuguese attacker being considered as one of the best young football players in the world and it would be very unrealistic for Atletico to let go this type of generational player making positive difference for the team.
The Atletico manager Diego Simeone cited the €30 million release clause from Felix’s contract to discourage the said premier league club from pursuing the young star.
With an injury that hindered Joao Felix’s contribution for the team last season, the youngster still tallied a total of eight goals in 24 appearances with four assists.
