William Saliba just joined the Ligue 1 side Nice on loan from Arsenal for the rest of the season and was placed
immediately on the starting XI for the Ligue 1 clash against Brest.
The centre-back was under pressure early in the match as he got called with a yellow card after 11 minutes after a heavy touch.
Then things just got worse, as Nice conceded twice before the halftime break, although Saliba was not at fault for either goal.
Brest striker Steve Mounie had the opener by the 23rd-minute mark in close range, after Nice stopper Walter Benitez parried a long-range effort.
Then followed five minutes later to double their lead, when Franck Honorat intercepted a back pass from Jordan Lotomba and rounded Benitez before slotting home.

Saliba played the whole game, which ended a 2-0 loss for Nice.
This move of Saliba may prove the point of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta that the Frenchman isn’t ready for first-team action, wherein one of the reasons speculated to be why he hasn’t played for the Gunners is his tendency to rush into tackles, and him being with Nice surrounded with less accomplished defenders could give him enough experience to improve.
