Earlier Valencia=fell to a 1-0 defeat at Girona, who recorded their first clean sheet of the season. Espanyol shared spoils with Osasuna 1-1 in a match where both teams finished with 10 men after their players sent-off shortly before halftime.

Lautaro Martinez headed his 12th league goal of the season and the only goal of the match as Inter Milan beat city rivals AC Milan in the Milan derby at the San Siro. Napoli remained on top of the table as Victor Osimhen scored twice after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s opening goal to briefly extend their advantage to 16 points. Relegation-threatened Hellas Verona held Lazio 1-1 at home.
Cremonese, who Napoli and Roma to reach the Italian Cup semifinals for the first time in 36 years and only the second time ever, remains without a Serie A win this season as Lecce beat the giant-slayer 2-0. Meanwhile, Monza survived a thrilling match as Matteo Pessina converted the last kick of the match to snatch a 2-2 draw at home to Sampdoria, who is also eyeing for their first win of the season.
German
Ten-man Bayern Munich won easily at Wolfsburg 2-4 to retake the top spot in the Bundesliga standings. Union Berlin stayed behind leader after securing a hard fought 2-1 win over Mainz 05. Meanwhile, Sebastien Haller scored his first Dortmund goal since recovering from testicular cancer as his side thrashed Freiburg 5-1.
Eintracht Frankfurt moved up to fifth place after beating Hertha Berlin 3-0. VfL Bochum also jumped place and moved out of the relegation zone after thrashing TSG Hoffenheim 5-2. Shortly after the loss, Hoffenheim announced that they had parted ways with coach Andre Breitenreiter after a string of poor performances left them suffering in 14th place in the Bundesliga.
France
Paris Saint-Germain overcame a poor first half as Lionel Messi scored to help the side win 2-1 at home and increase their Ligue 1 lead to a provisional eight points. Second-place Marseille ended its unbeaten as it lost 3-1 at home to Nice. They are now only ahead of third-place Lens on goal difference. Meanwhile, Lens managed only a 1-1 draw at Brest.
Monaco won beat Clermont 2-0 to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches and move two points behind third-place Lens. At the bottom of the table, Angers finally ended its French league record of 13-game losing streak after a goalless draw at Lorient. Strasbourg beat Montpellier 2-0 at home to go 17th as it aims to move out of the relegation zone.
