The Matchday 14 of Wolverhampton against Brentford ended in a draw as Ruben Neves pulled an equalizer while Costa received a red card after he committed a head-butt in stoppage time. Follow for more soccer zone here!

Despite the match ending in a draw (which is now good news for Wolves organization and fans), it was tainted with Diego Costa’s red card in the stoppage time after the VAR check shown that the Wolves striker appeared to head-butt Ben Mee. You may visit for accurate soccer predictions here!

The Wolves strikers will serve a three-match ban – it means that he will not be able to participate with Wolves until after the World Cup season. Wolves’ temporary manager Steve Davis said in a post-game interview that Diego Costa “apologized”. “When emotions are high it is difficult to discuss things, but we’ll have a conversation with him next week. It will open up doors for other players or maybe we will play in a different way.”

Match between Brentford and Wolves is considered an intense game with both of the teams having difficulty searching for spaces and opportunities to edge each other. Brentford defender Ben Mee scored the first goal of the match at the 50th minute to give his side a lead and momentum at home. But Ruben Neves scored a goal within just two minutes to level the game for Wolves.

Costa had the best chances to take matters into his own hand and give his team the victory when he twice wriggled the ball into the goal but Raya made two heroic saves. This gave a frustration for the Wolves striker as he shoves his head into Mee, causing him to receive a red card and be sent off from the match.

“A point was fair,” said Davis. ‘Both teams wanted to win the game and it was quite equally balanced. …Ruben’s was a great finish and we’ve seen him do that many times. You know where it’s going to go.”

“He’s an unbelievable competitor and players like that play on the edge, so you have to go with that,” Davis said.

“That’s how they get the best out of themselves. Maybe on this occasion something has occurred, but he has to play on the edge to be the player he is, so you have to accept sometimes that he might get that wrong,” Davis added during the post-game.

During the match, Wolves lost Matheus Nunes as he suffered a shoulder injury and was replaced by Joao Moutinho.

This unremarkable match did little to change for both teams. Brentford remains at the middle of the standings, sitting at 11th seed with a record of 3W, 6D, and 4L while Wolves is still in trouble, sitting second to the last of the standing with a record of 2W, 4D, and 7L.
